With 12 years of experience of travel in the region and a passion for textiles and crafts, Narelle Grudgfield of MTA Travel carefully constructs each trip piece by piece by returning to a site many times over a number of years - meeting and talking to people and discovering hidden treasures, sampling hotels, guesthouses and restaurants to ensure that each textile tour is a unique experience. Although our tours cater for all ages most of our textile and craft tours are created with the over 40's in mind.

These fabulous tours generally run on a monthly or weekly basis.  Like our small group tours they offer you a great mix of hands on workshops, sightseeing and cultural highlights. They also offer lots of opportunity to interact with the local communities that you visit.  Accompanied by 1st class English speaking local guides and experts these tours depart with a minimum of 2 people and maximum of 6 which make them great for those wanting to absorb themselves in the local culture.

Our small group tours provide a range of options that give you a great balance of cultural sites and the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities including hands on workshops. We also provide the opportunity to visit or contribute to community projects. All groups of 6 or more travel with an Australian tour escort.

These itineraries allow you to go it alone and with the knowledge that your accommodation and transport are taken care of and that you have the flexibility to do a variety of organised activities or simply please yourself what you do and see.  You can use one of our existing itineraries or come up with your own and we will make it happen for you.
