DAY 1: LUANG PRABANG
Today is arrival day. We will collect you from the airport when you arrive. The day is free to explore. There's a get together meeting tonight to meet your travel companions and go over the itinerary for the tour before we take a stroll through the colourful craft markets held each night.
DAY 2: LUANG PRABANG
For early risers your day begins at dawn as you witness the daily procession of orange robed monks through the town. Our tour of Luang Prabang today takes in Wat Visoun, colourful Wat Xieng Thong. We visit local weaving and paper making villages to meet the local weavers in their homes and visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology museum for a directors tour.
DAY 3: LUANG PRABANG
Today is a hands-on day as we try our hand at making traditional Laos natural dyes and learning traditional silk weaving techniques from the master weavers.
DAY 4: LUANG PRABANG
Today is another hands-on day as we try out hand at traditional Hmong batik and bamboo weaving.
DAY 5: LUANG PRABANG
Today we spend time with some local ladies earning Hmong embroidery techniques and wander though the laneways of this World Heritage town checking out textiles and craft shops.
DAY 6: LUANG PRABANG
Today we hit the road for a field trip to a traditional Ta Lue village in the far north of the province. Here we have lunch with the vilalge weavers and do a fun workshop with traditional natural dyes.
DAY 7: LUANG PRABANG
Today you have the entire day to relax and explore the town, or perphas take some more classes try your hand at Katu backstrap weaving .
DAY 8: Your tour finishes today after breakfast.
DAY 8: LUANG PRABANG - VIENTIANE
Your morning is free before you take a short flight south to Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
DAY 9: VIENTIANE
Escorted by a local English speaking guide you'll discover the hidden charms of Vientiane, one of the quietest capital cities in the world, far removed from the bustle and hustle of other Asian capitals. You'll visit the serene Wat Sisaket, and beautiful Wat Phra Keo and the iconic gold stupa of That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. You will also explore the city's textile galleries including the Carol Cassidy studio and drop in to the COPE and Lao Disabled Women's Development centres.
DAY 10: VIENTIANE
You spend your morning at the Huoey Hong Weaving Centre trying your hand at shibori using traditional Laos natural dyes. Your afternoon is free
DAY 11: VIENTIANE
Your tour comes to an end today after you transfer to the airport.
