DAYS 1- 4
Explore the amazing temples of Angkor including Angkor Wat, Ta Phrom, Bantaey Sri, Angkor Thom, Bayon. Visit the towns markets and textile projects including a silk farm and an outlet for the Mekong Quilts project. Try your hand at Khmer cooking. DAY 5-6 Head south to the provincial town of Kampong Cham where we visit a community weaving project set up by Buddhist monks. We take an early morning boat ride down the Mekong to cotton weaving villages before we head south to the river capital of Phnom Penh DAY 7- 10 Explore Phnom Penh form its Royal Palace to the sacred temples and markets. We take some field trips to a silk weaving island and down to the Takeo province where some 10,000 weavers produce traditional ikats in their homes. Your tour finishes on Day 10 after breakfast. |
