10 DAY - SMALL GROUP TOUR
Travelling with like minded women you start your holiday in vibrant Hanoi, where you'll explore the sites of the city including the Old Quarter and the Ethnology museum showcasing the costumes and textiles of the 54 minority groups of Vietnam. You'll travel to the remote mountain town of Muong Hum for the colourful Sunday market and visit ethnic villages on your way to the resort town of Sapa. Here you'll visit take an embroidery lesson with Red Dao women in their homes. You'll travel down to the UNESCO town of Hoi An with its hundreds of tailors and galleries set a midst restored French colonial architecture and ancient Chinese shopfronts and temples.

DAY 1: HANOI
Today is arrival day. We will collect you from the airport when you arrive. The day is free to explore. There's a get together meeting tonight to meet your travel companions and go over the itinerary for the tour.
DAY 2: HANOI
This morning we visit some of Hanoi’s most iconic sites, including, the One Pillar Pagoda, The Ho Chi Minh complex and the Temple of Literature. We stop in for a look at the fantastic Craflink and spend the afternoon taking a tour of the fascinating Ethnology Museum. We end the day with a visit to Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
DAY 3: HANOI – SAPA
This morning we make a visit to the Womens Museum before leaving the city to drive around 5 hours north into the mountains.
DAY 4: SAPA – MUONG HUM
This morning we travel to the remote market in Muong Hum, which sees a colourful gathering of ethnic minority groups where the women all wear traditional costume. We spend the afternoon exploring some of the surrounding villages and meeting local women before heading back to Sapa town.
DAY 5: SAPA
This morning we meet up with a local Red Dao and spend the day with her and her family in their traditional village learning how to master the techniques of Red Dao embroidery. This is a fabulous day to interact with the local women and chat about life in their village.
DAY 6: SAPA
Today is a free day or there is an option to take a workshop in Black Hmong batik and hemp fibres.
DAY 7: SAPA-HANOI
This morning we drive down the new freeway back to Hanoi. We reach Hanoi in the early afternoon. Your afternoon is free to catch up on any last minute shopping in the city.
DAY 8: HANOI - HOI AN
This morning we transfer to airport for the morning flight to Danang. On arrival, we take a short drive to the World Heritage town of Hoi An. We take walking tour of the ancient centre of this old-world trading port and finish the afternoon at the fabric markets.
DAY 9: HOI AN
Today is a free day to explore Hoi Ans hundreds of tailors, shoe makers and galleries. We get together this evening to celebrate our time on the road together.
DAY 10: HOI AN
Your tour finishes after breakfast and your transfer to Danang International Airport.

Independent guided tours are open to anyone with a love of textiles. These tours run at a time to fit with your travel dates. These tours are not escorted by Narelle but are guided by local professional English speaking guides.
