Travelling solo...

Want to travel, but you don't have a travel companion? Or concerned about traveling solo or traveling with us for the first time?

Around 70% of people that travel with us are travelling on their own without a companion.
Don't let the "newness" of the experience stand between you and your desire to discover new places and create new memories. Once you take that first trip, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

As we travel in such a small group you will always have a friendly face to share the experience with – be it sharing a meal with or having that second opinion when deciding on the purchase of that gorgeous textile – you’ll never be travelling solo!

With your Australian tour leader and a local guide travelling with you we can help you every step of the way whether it’s using local ATM’s, contacting home, deciphering local food menus or shopping in the markets - we are always there to support you.

From your flights to your visa and travel insurance I can assist you sorting the logistics of your trip (and for those nervous travellers I can also organise someone to assist you through the check-in and boarding process on your journey).

Frequently asked questions

Will I have to pay a single supplement?
It is your choice. If there is another ‘willing to share’ single traveller of the same gender on your tour, you can share with them.  If there is no one wanting to share the only difference in your cost is that of a single room supplement that we pay to our hotels.
Top 10 Reasons to travel with us
what our clients say
Who will I be travelling with?
Our travellers are of all ages and from all parts of the world. They share a passion for textiles, culture and a desire to make a difference to the people they meet and to connect with the lives and cultures the places they visit.  Many of our travellers have done a lot of travel in the past but are looking for something that they cant organise themselves and enjoy the company of others with the same interests. The age group of our tour participants ranges from around 45 to 75 years of age.

What size are groups?
The maximum number of people on your Small Group Tour is 10 but the average group size is 8. This means you will always have the personal attention from your  tour leader and local guide and we can visit those out of the way places and experience those special moments with the locals that are never possible with larger groups.

What kinds of accommodation will I stay in?
Our hotels and guesthouses are handpicked by us. We ensure that our accommodation is located in the centre of town so that it is easy for you to explore when you have some time to yourself.  We pride ourselves on providing hotel accommodation that gives you all the 'mod cons' without skimping on comfort or style - or sharing the hotel with large noisy tour groups!

What about free time?
We provide a mix of group activities along with plenty of 'down time', where you can go off with your travel companions or spend time exploring on your own.  With lots of other solo travellers on each tour - there's always someone to go exploring with - and on free days your tour guide will always provide you with suggested activities and be available all day to help you out (especially when it comes to shopping and eating!).

Do I need to worry about what to eat and where to eat?
Eating is one of the highlights of travelling and we like to make sure you get to experience as much local flavour as possible. Because we cater for single travellers we like to take the hassle out of eating for you by including some meals - but when a meal is not included you'll still never eat alone as your tour guide will always be there to join you or to point you and your travel companions in the direction of recommended restaurants.

Which tours can solo travellers join?
Single travellers are welcome on all our Small Group Tours.
