FAQ's

I’m used to travelling independently. Are 2WORLDTOURS really for me?
Our tours are not conventional group tours. You will be travelling with a maximum of 10-12 travellers. They are designed to provide you with a good balance of volunteer experience, personal discovery and group activity with like-minded travellers.
Who will I be travelling with?
2WORLDTOUR travellers are of all ages and from all parts of the world. They share a passion for travel and a desire to make a difference to the people they meet and to connect with the lives and cultures the places they visit.
How fit do I have to be to join 2WORLDTOURS journey?
All tours are suited to anybody of normal fitness and mobility with a desire to get out and experience local culture. Walking and optional leisurely cycling may be included in some of our itineraries. Some of our tours may feature drives of more than 3 hours or more basic accommodation, where this is the case the tour dossier will provide details.
What if I’m a single traveller?
Our groups are a mix of single travellers, couples, families and friends. We are geared especially for single travellers.
What kinds of accommodation will I stay in?
Our hotels and guesthouses are handpicked by us and all support the same philosophies as we do, with many of them offering traineeships for local kids and the organisations we support. Whilst they do not offer all of the 5 star trimmings they provide a clean, quiet and relaxed atmosphere so you can enjoy your holiday.
How will I be getting around?
We provides comfortable and air-conditioned private transport to which allows us the freedom to stop and snack with the locals, shop with the locals and take those great photo’s along the way. On shorter journeys domestic flights are included, however departure taxes must be paid by each tour member. On some of our journeys in Cambodia deluxe public buses are used (with all the facilities including a toilet and hostess)
Do I need to worry about what to eat and where to eat?
Eating is one of the highlights of travelling throughout Asia and we like to make sure you get to experience as much local flavour as possible. As a tour company that caters for single and family travellers we like to take the hassle out of eating for you by including a lot of meals in the cost of your tour. We often eat at small family run restaurants or restaurants that participate in community training programs, providing skills to local kids and disabled members of the community. All restaurants cater for all tastes! If you have preferences for food, for example vegetarian you just need to indicate that on your booking form and we will look after it for you.
Why are tours accompanied by both western tour leaders and local guides?
A combination of local and western tour leaders helps provide for the very best travel experience. Our local guides are uniquely placed to share personal insights and our western tour leaders have a wealth of travel and volunteer experience to share with you. They are also able to fully appreciate your interests and needs and ensure these are being met.
Are there any hidden costs?
No, there are no hidden costs. Your tour cost covers everything except: international flights, beverages, personal expenses or meals taken outside the tour group meals. Your local payment allows your tour guide to pay for meals and supplies along the way and support the local economy. However, if you are satisfied with your local guides and drivers then a small gratuity is an appropriate way in which to show appreciation.
What if I want to provide further assistance to any of the organisations that we visit?
We uses a percentage of tour fee to provide supplies and sponsorship to the charities and organisations that we visit. However if you wish to make further private contributions please ask your tour leader how you can do this. We provide the opportunity to visit local markets prior to visiting organisations to enable participants who wish to donate extra supplies, for example clothing, school supplies and food. Individual tour dossiers provide a wish list of supplies which you may wish to purchase locally or bring with you from home. Keep in mind that supplies bought locally also help the local economy and make your luggage a lot lighter!!
What if I decide I want to go back to visit or volunteer at an organisation that I visit on my tour? Our tours are dedicated to the protection and welfare of children and the disadvantaged communities that we visited and trust that all tour participants will honour these values.  Whilst tour participants may elect to undertake a volunteer placement at the end of their tour, participants will be required to undertake background and reference checks by the individual organisations. Ther is no guarantee that you will be accepted as a volunteer and takes no responsibility for volunteer placement. It will be between you and the local organisation.  During your tour, participants are not permitted to visit any of our projects or organisations unless accompanied by your tour guide.
